Sternbergia sicula (often classified as Sternbergia lutea subsp. sicula) is known as the Slender Autumn Daffodil.
While it looks remarkably like a yellow Crocus, it is actually a member of the Amaryllis family. In its native range—which spans Italy, Greece, and the eastern Mediterranean—it is a beloved herald of autumn.
