ABOUT
Bulbomads are the original growers of Rhodohypoxis and Galanthus in South Africa. Established in 2015, we've since been working to grow rare bulbs from fascinating places and habitats from around the world, as well as growing indigenous bulbs from the summer and winter rainfall zones of South Africa. Some of our main lines include: Arisaema, Cyclamen, Galanthus, Helleborus, Nerine, Oxalis, Rhodohypoxis, Rhodoxis, Scilla, terrestrial orchids and more.
Instead of using common names, we use Latin binomial names for genus and species, to remove any ambiguity that may creep in when looking at different genera or species when using their common names, and indeed when translating common names into different languages.
Note our bulbs are seed grown or from divisions of our mother plants. None of our plants are wild harvested or collected as this is illegal. Through our propagation and cultivation we contribute to the conservation of many rare plant species native to South Africa. We are in contact with Botanists and other plant growers to insure we source and grow plant material that does not impact wild populations.
