Acis autumnalis
Acis autumnalis is a beautiful species of snowflake flowers that produces flowers in late summer or early autumn. Native to the south of Spain as well as north Africa. Grow these winter bulbs in a sunny position with free draining soil. Water during winter. Summer drought tolerant.
Acis autumnalis var. pulchella
A Moroccan version of this excellent late summer early autumn flowerer. It is quite distinct in the fact that the pedicels and bracts are green rather than maroon.

A late spring flowering species that is native to France. Can handle some summer moisture unlike other species that should be kept dry during their dormancy in summer.
Native to the mountains of Morocco this winter growing and early spring flowering species is an absolute delight. Requires a dry summer dormancy, and cool moist temperatures in winter. Morning sun and afternoon shade suits this species well, and planted in a free draining gritty soil mix.

Acis valentina redlist endandegered, has green discs behind anthers, occurs near Valencia, Spain.
